Safety Evaluation on Radio Waves of Implantable Medical Devices

Mobile phone penetration rate has exceeded 100% and the use of radio-wave devices in living spaces has been increasing steadily, such as electronic article surveillance equipment and wire card system, fifth generation communication called "5G" and IoT. The current guidelines for radio wave protection note the need for continuous investigation and research for active protection of wearers of implantable medical devices; due to the difficulty of conducting evaluations, protection is limited to just warnings. We are engaged in researching and developing technologies that will ensure safety and security in the smart society where radio wave system will be utilized in new fields.

Safety Evaluation of New Wireless Device Usage

In order to disseminateadopt this technology called Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology,), in addition to evaluating electromagnetic compatibility, it is indispensable to evaluate theensure human safety of human body in the vicinity of WPT devicedevices. Therefore, we research intoare researching safety issues consideringin various conditions (for example, when a person wearing a metal plate for medical usereasons approaches thea WPT device, etc.)) through experiments in the anechoic chamberchambers and the latest numerical analysis technology.
